and users should be able to access their NVRs from anywhere in the world via the public network (internet) to view real-time images and retrieve recorded data.

NVR equipment beyond the limitations of complex network environments and firewalls,
providing stable services through a hybrid architecture that combines P2P and relay technology.

Solution Overview

NVRs in a typical home or enterprise environment are located on private networks at the bottom of the router (NAT) and are blocked from external access.
Complex port forwarding or DDNS settings were required to address this, but this can be a difficult and security vulnerability for the general user.

Woohyun Digital's server solution solves all of these complexities at the server end. As long as the equipment is connected to the Internet,
our server automatically finds the best path and forms a secure tunnel with your app or VMS.

Core Architecture

Our server solution is an organic system that consists of three complementary core server groups to ensure stable service in any network situation.

Intelligent P2P Server (Connection Brokerage Server)

Role: A matchmaker that finds the fastest 'direct path' between the user and the NVR.

Core technology: Using advanced NAT Traversal (hole-punching) technology, we prioritize peer-to-peer (P2P) connections where clients and
NVRs send and receive data directly without going through a server.

Advantages: It dramatically reduces server bandwidth costs and minimizes data transfer latency, providing high-definition video with excellent real-time performance.

High-Performance Relay Server

Role: A reliable detour that ensures connectivity in strict firewall environments where P2P connectivity is not possible

Core technology: It has a high-performance streaming engine that can handle large-scale simultaneous access. In the event of a P2P connection failure, traffic is immediately diverted to the relay server to relay the image transmission.

Advantage: It guarantees a 100% success rate of connectivity in any adverse network environment (e.g., enterprise symmetric NAT, multiple firewalls).

Scalable Cloud Storage Server

Role: Cloud storage that overcomes NVR's physical storage limitations and securely backs up data.

Core technology: Provides high durability and scalability based on distributed file systems. It can be scaled up to a Video Surveillance as a Service (VSaaS) model that backs up NVR's critical event footage in real time to the cloud or records it directly to the cloud without NVR.

Advantage: sensitive data is securely preserved in the event of equipment theft or damage, and storage capacity can expand indefinitely as needed.

based on uPnP, DDNS Server, Stun Server, and Relay Server technologies

1st: Scans the LAN to find and connect to the NVR

2nd: Attempts to connect the NVR via the Internet using uPnP and DDNS server

3rd: Attempting to connect the NVR using the Stun server of P2P Servers(Tunneling)

4th: Establishing the connection through the Relay Server of P2P Servers (Relaying)
